PCT 2 Commissioner
David Stout
February 26th, 2021
WHEREAS, Commissioner David Stout was born and raised in Worland, Wyoming, and Southeastern NM. Worked for Progressive leaders like State Senator Jose Rodriguez and decided to make El Paso his home and a place worth fighting for.
WHEREAS, David Stout was first elected as County Commissioner for Precinct two of El Paso County on November 3rd, 2014.
WHEREAS, David Stout has demonstrated his strong commitment to Progressive values and policy by fighting to prioritize access to healthcare and mental healthcare, spearheading the creation of Crisis Intervention Teams at both the El Paso Police Department and the County Sheriff’s Office, working tirelessly to keep El Pasoans safe and healthy through writing policies to bring more access to healthy food to the area, as well as leading the County’s response to the Pandemic by serving on the COVID-19 Taskforce. I pushed the University Medical Center to take the lead in equitably vaccinating our population through the mega-site set up at the County Coliseum and mobile clinics that can go into underserved neighborhoods.
WHEREAS, David Stout has shown her commitment to the El Paso Young Democrats, mentoring our membership, fighting for Progressive Policy, and supporting the youth of our community.
THEREFORE, Let it be resolved that on February 26th, 2021 the Honorable David Stout be awarded a Lifetime Membership in the El Paso Young Democrats. The highest honorary distinction awarded by the El Paso Young Democrats.
PCT 3 Commissioner
Iliana Holguin
January 14th, 2022
WHEREAS, Iliana Holguin was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and served as the El Paso Democratic Party Chairwoman from two thousand sixteen to two thousand twenty. Holguin made history as Chairwoman of the Democratic Party in 2018 as she helped Democrats win one hundred percent of their seats.
WHEREAS, Iliana Holguin was elected as County Commissioner for Precinct Three of El Paso County on November 3rd, 2020. A historic precinct that represents under-served communities like Socorro, San Elizario, Horizon, and El Paso.
WHEREAS, Iliana Holguin has demonstrated her strong commitment to her community by ensuring that her constituents have access to the COVID-19 Vaccines, COVID-19 Tests, improved infrastructure, and increased community awareness.
WHEREAS, Iliana Holguin has shown her commitment to the El Paso Young Democrats by sponsoring events, mentoring our membership, and supporting the youth of our community.
THEREFORE, Let it be resolved that on January 14th, 2022, the
Honorable Iliana Holguin be awarded a Lifetime Membership in the El Paso Young Democrats. The highest honorary distinction awarded by the El Paso Young Democrats.
