J.J. MARTINEZ PRESIDENT

J.J. is a philosophy major, religious studies and political science minor, at the University of Texas at El Paso. He's also the communications director of the Texas College Democrats + Texas Young Democrats. A parliamentary procedure nerd and shameful The Bachelor watcher, he's a decent piano player and wants to abolish the College Board.

DOMINIQUE HUERTA VICE PRESIDENT

Dominique is a political science major with a women and gender Studies minor at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is a dog mom, Ravenclaw, and a horror movie enthusiast. When she’s not fighting for reproductive justice, she’s definitely listening to Harry Styles on loop.

AAREN MARROQUIN EXEC DIRECTOR

Aaren is a political science student at the University of Texas at El Paso. He was an intern in the Texas State House of Representative’s District 76 office, where he worked on multiple district initiatives, in the Precinct 2 County Commissioner’s office, where he conducted multiple policy research projects and managed constituent correspondence, and in the El Paso City Council District 1’s office, where he aided in the coordination of the U.S./Mexico Sister Cities Summit. He is a member of UTEP’s Chicano/Pre-Law Society and serves as a student liaison for the Department of Political Science.

DAISY G. CIGARROA SECRETARY

Daisy is the Voting Rights Organizer for Common Cause Texas. She strives to lead life with compassion, kindness, joy, and love. One day she hopes to give back all the love and support her city has given to her. Until then, she is fighting to make the world a better place for all, for her family, for her dogs, for the possums and raccoons (and various night critters), and for the members of, record-breaking boy band, One Direction.

BRYCE FUGATE TREASURER

Bryce is a recent El Pasoan after moving from Oklahoma in 2016. Bryce works as an engineer at the refinery in El Paso. He attended OU where he received degrees in petroleum engineering and international studies, and he also graduated from UTEP in 2018 with his MA in Latin American and Border Studies. Some of Bryce's favorite activities are brewery hopping, camping, and home renovation projects. He lives in Central El Paso with his two dogs, Polo and Rocky.

SAUL FONTES PARLIAMENTARIAN

Saul is a Chicanx studies major at El Paso Community College. He enjoys learning about the issues facing Brown communities in the United States and has a great interest in the field of urban planning. He spends his free time thrifting, listening to old vinyl records, watching films, sports, and comedy specials. He finds inspiration in the writings of Malcolm X and Corky Gonzales.

SABRINA BUSTILLOS CHIEF OF STAFF

Sabrina is a communication and women and gender studies student at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is a community organizer, and local city council staffer that enjoys advocating for voting rights, and reproductive justice. When she isn’t organizing, she enjoys riding her bike, collecting vinyl records and watching movies. She hopes to continue organizing, and eventually run for office.

Johnny is a political science major and border studies minor at the University of Texas at El Paso. He also serves as the associate policy director for the Texas Young Democrats. When he’s not tweeting, he’s probably binging Scrubs

GRACIELA BLANDON LEGE DIRECTOR

Graciela is a native El Pasoan currently studying Art and Politics at New York University.  Living on the border, Gracie has witnessed first-hand the power we as young El Pasoans hold to shape our political narrative through struggles. Working on various campaigns from climate policy, to labor organizing, to electoral work, to mutual aid, she has weaved a network of community and political education across El Paso. Gracie is excited to continue making sure El Paso's young Democrats feel supported in their political and personal development.
