Elisa is the only candidate we trust to lead on young issues in the State House.
The El Paso Young Democrats firmly believe that it's time for a new generation of leadership in our community and we will always work to ensure young voices are at the head of the table. One candidate has proven time and time again that her commitment to young people is unwavering and her resolve to addressing young issues is unmatched. The El Paso Young Democrats are announcing their enthusiastic, unequivocal support for Elisa Tamayo as she runs to serve House District 76 in the State House.
Elisa's campaign has been one of inclusion. She has built up a team made up, yes, of all people, but especially of young people who see in her themselves. As she walks the streets of her district, meeting with people, she's proven that, if she is elected to the State House, she will take no one for granted — especially the youngest among us.
Elisa's life has been one of public service. From a student at El Paso Community College and the University of Texas at El Paso to the offices of State Senator José Rodriguez, she has been a voice for the voiceless at the highest levels of state government. And, she's not afraid to call it like it is.
Real change starts with candidates who run campaigns of real change. Real change means taking contributions solely from members of the community, not big donors with their own agendas. Real change means actively seeking the support of the community you hope to serve, not writing anyone off.
It's time for a young Latina representing El Paso and we trust Elisa to represent us well.
The 2020 Democratic Primary is on March 3, 2020. Early voting is happening right now. Election day information can be found on the El Paso County Election Department’s website here.
